Many people starting a business online begin in the Internet Marketing arena. Why? Because they believe this niche is easy to make money in. The problem they do not realize is that this is most likely one of the hardest niches to fit into and actual make the money they seek. So what exactly is the best path to take when seeking an online business? Well that’s easy really. There are many other highly profitable niches out there to choose from and make a killing. This article will outline the importance of choosing the best niche market selection so you can make the right choice.

The most important part of your online business is choosing a profitable niche market. Why? Without a good buying market you will not be able to make money. It is a simple theory that is based on facts. It doesn’t matter if your are into product creation, affiliate marketing or building Adsense websites, niche market selection is crucial! So crucial in fact that it can make the difference of failure or success!

The worst thing that happens is that many marketers get it completely backwards. Many people begin by listening to marketers that tell them all they need to begin a great online niche business is to be passionate about a specific subject and begin by writing about that subject. Then the person who begins by writing articles, reports, or ebooks about the niche fails miserably, finding they are paying out more money than what they are bringing in profit. The truth is that being passionate about a niche subject helps, but only after you go through the niche marketing selection process.

So, what exactly is a niche market selection process and how do we go about picking the right niche market?

Ideally, we would need to find a niche that…

• Gets a large number of searches every day.

• Has very little competing products and websites in it.

• Has a potential market who have a huge problem to solve and are desperate to find a solution to that problem.

• Have enough money and are willing to buy your products.

Notice I said ideally in the above statement. Unfortunately, this is not an ideal world and you would be extremely blessed to find a niche market that has all of the characteristics above. Thankfully your niche market does not have to be perfect to be profitable. It does not have to have thousands of searches per month. It could have a few hundred. The thing is with a smaller market, you can hit the top of the search engines for a couple of key terms and convert a large number of your website visitors to customers.

Any specific niche market can be competitive, but as long as you have the skill to either bring your sites to the top of the search engines, or figure out new ways to generate traffic to your website, you can compete with anyone in any market. Your potential customers do not have to have a large income; you can write short reports and sell them cheap rather than a full eBook that you sell for higher prices. You can also start an adsense site instead of creating a product and generate passive income from adverts – or simple sell a report or two on the site. The choice is yours. Remember, there are always a couple of ways to make money in a niche market. Why limit yourself with one way of turning a profit?

Now, to find a good market I work forums. What I mean by that is that I visit forums and gather information about specific subjects. I also get tons of ideas by surfing the net when looking for other things. You will be amazed at what you stumble across while you are doing research for other subjects. Matter of fact, this is my primary way of finding cool narrowed down niches that haven’t been exploited yet. Yes, I write them down on paper so I have them handy too.

The next thing I do is go to overture.com or use the keyword analyzing tool at Niche Mania. The key thing to do is do some research and pick the best niche markets, and then set out to either make your own website and product, or have them made for you. See what I am saying here? Do not start with your product first. Do your research first so you know there are people looking for the information you are providing.

Never under estimate the importance of niche market selection. It could make the difference in whether you succeed or fail in your online niche business from the very beginning. Niche market selection really is that important and you should do everything you can to ensure you select the most profitable and lucrative market to base your business around.
