Is Bum Marketing A Fad Or Prominent Internet Marketing Strategies That Are Here To Stay?

One of the hottest things going on in Internet Marketing is what is known as Bum Marketing. My question here is, is this strategy here to stay or is it just another fad that will soon fall by the waste side like many other Marketing Strategies? The method itself is not new by any means. Marketers have been doing it for years, but now it has taken on a new name.

I bet you are wondering what exactly Bum marketing is and what strategies it uses right?

Well don’t fret. Just because you did not buy a report or ebook on it does not mean that you cannot learn what it is or how to implement it. Please save your money. The truth is this strategy use to be called, and still is by some people, article marketing. Bummers will say it is really the lazy marketer’s method of running traffic to a sales page hoping that someone will click on a product link and buy your product. Hence the word Bum.

The internet marketing techniques involved are simple and can be two fold or multi-faceted. To start with, you find a good market, hot product on Click Bank or some other affiliate program, or use your own product, then do some keyword research and find the best targeted keyword phrases that are not so popular where you will have too much competition, but yet have top words or phrases surfers are searching for every day. These can be about specific niches like internet marketing, health, computers, ipods, beauty products or whatever.

If you do not have a keyword tool to look up what is popular, I suggest you get one if you want to try these marketing techniques. Overture use to have a great tool and it was free, but they shut it down recently for some reason. The best tool I ever used is part of a niche membership, and I get to use it free along with many other tools.

I also get my pick of niche sites and other fancy things like header graphics, content scripts, etc… This membership I fairly cheap considering every thing Nich Mania Choice gives you is original and has never been used anywhere before. Each site is only distributed to 30 people and then if it is popular, BigMike, and Kay King create similar sites but with different graphics and articles. You can check it out here.

When you find just the right keyword phrases for the product you want to use, sit down and write a couple of articles that relate to the product. Make sure you only use a 1.5 – 2.0 keyword density on each one at the most. This means to use the words you found and sprinkle them throughout the entire article. Also, you might want to make sure you place that phrase or word in the last paragraph of your article. For instance, I am using the phrase INTERNET MARKETING STRATEGIES in this one.

How many you write is up to you. I don’t write it as a review of the product either because most of the A D sites do not like people placing affiliate links inside the body. What you can do is create a Word Press Blog or Blogger Blog. They are both free if you are short on cash. You can either host the blog on your own hosting account or on their servers. That is up to you.

Personally, I like to create review blogs because if they are done right and kept up, they will eventually turn into authority sites after they are up a certain amount of time, get some good Page Rank, and get placed high in the search queries by the search engines.

Once you get a quick blog put up, sit down and write a review of the product. I add both the good points and the bad, but most of the products I use in this strategy are good products that I use myself. This way I am sure to know enough about it to be able to write the review and answer questions for people who have any.

Try to write a good lengthy review so people get interested in the product you want to push. When you do so, you will get a better click through rate, meaning people will click and by more. To make it real simple to understand, the CTR is no more than the ratio between the amounts of clicks versus the amount of page views or visitors that view your review.

Next, go ahead and post the review on your new blog. Make sure you tag the right keywords you want to use to that review. Then go find some Article Directories and start submitting your new articles to them. When I use this strategy, I usually spread them out throughout the big list of directories. I do this for several reasons. One is because if I submit the same article to too many directories at the same time, the search engines all of a sudden see a bunch of links running to my blog at the same time from the same places.

Your blog will look like a spam site to them if you aren’t careful. When I say I spread them out, I mean that I sometimes only submit all of them to maybe ten to twenty directories. Then I do the same process over regarding writing articles and another review for a different product and do everything all over again using ten to twenty other directories. If you happen to pick an entirely different niche though, I suggest you create another blog. This way you only have related product reviews on any given blog. Trust me, it looks better this way in the eyes of the search engines.

In most cases, I end up gathering enough information and articles for at least three to four products at one time before I submit anything. It is just easier for me this way. If you are unsure, I would stick to using these internet marketing strategies one at a time until you get use to doing it.

At any rate, after you submit your content people will pick it up and place it on their site or blog, or use it in their newsletter or ezine. This way it creates more back-links for you and the content is viewed by more people.

If you want to make money very quickly and have a little extra cash on hand, you can use pay per click to send targeted traffic to either the salespage for the product or the review you posted on your blog. This method works wonders and does make money for you if you set the campaign up with the right targeted phases.

To answer my original question about Bum marketing being a fad or prominent Internet Marketing Strategies, I’d have to say it is prominent in this arena because article marketing is a sturdy strategy that will help anyone make money by selling any type of product they want to promote plus get there feet wet if they are new.
