If you have been in Internet Marketing or doing other business on the internet for any amount of time, you probably noticed that there are two very hot ways to make money other than creating and owning your own products. They are Adsense and affiliate marketing. These two types of revenue streams are both cost and time effective. In this beginnings basics article, I plan to show you four types of websites or web pages that will help you making money in a short period of time with little to no cost to you except for a hosting account and an autoresponder.
First off, people do not realize that there is money to be made with Adsense and affiliate products. If they do happen to know, they have not figured out how to be successful at it. After all, one of the main reasons you are probably reading this article is because you know there is money to be had but you are not doing as well as you would like right? If this is the case with you, go grab a pen and piece of paper so you can jot ideas and things down as we progress with the article.
One of the primary type of sites for Adsense is niche content sites. These types of sites display content or articles about a specific topic within a specified filed like Internet Marketing. Now this particular niche is rather large and has many narrower niches within the umbrella. For instance, Websites, research, scams and so forth can be mini niches with in the IM arena. The thing is, is that you want your niche to be as narrowly focused as possible with enough search results showing an interest in the subject material, but at the same time not too competitive where you will have a hard time getting in the top search engine listings.
What I do is go to one of my favorite hang outs the Niche Mania Forum because I can use the tools I need to look up keywords for special topics or niches people are searching for. Another place to go is Overture to find out what the niche topics are popular.
Once you get your main subject together, you can pick out 5-10 sub niches for this topic. Once you get your niche, write some articles about the sub topics that are about 500-700 words each. You can do your research on the internet by going to Google or any other search engine and typing the keywords or phrases in your browser. Having everything ironed out, it is time to build your website. If you don’t have a site builder don’t worry there are free ones available like Mazilla. Sometimes hosting companies have free ones to. Then go ahead and put your site together.
If you are like me and do not want to build your own websites, you can get pre-made adsense sites at a very low price plus all the tools you will need to make money with adsense.. Before you run off and get any old pre-built adsense site I have a membership that I know is probably the best on the internet. Before you ask, yes I am a member and have been since almost the beginning. The membership I am referring to is Niche Mania Choice. It is just what it implies….you get a choice. You get to pick from two different styles of websites with over 450 sites in all, plus software and scripts, content and graphics so you can make your own sites or spurs up your pre-made sites, and ebooks and reports so you can build a list of future clients. If this isn’t enough, you also get free scripts and reports once a month. Oh and there is also an active community to helps support each other so everyone can succeed.
The second best type of sites are called blogs. These were originally set up as weblogs but have taken on a whole different dimension in the past couple of years. Blogs are now being used for several things like affiliate and resale rights products, adsense, building a good relationship with your readers, and finally linking and traffic strategies. I like blogs because you can automate them easier than you can a regular adsense site, plus they are easy to set up, are free, and the search engines love them. Matter of fact you are reading one of my primary blogs. They work much like a website in that you can add your affiliate link, images and adsense on each page, but I believe they help you get more personal with your clientele then a regular site. Perhaps it is because I post more frequently to my blogs and feel I can get more personal. Who knows.
By the way, you can set up a free blog using Blogger or Word Press in your hosting account. The scripts are usually free to download on a domain. If you don’t have enough money to get a domain or a hosting account, you can set both types of blogs up on either one of their hosting accounts. They are free for the public. This being said, I do want to urge you to try to get your own hosting accounts. At least one main domain and use sub domains to set up multiples. This way your accounts cannot be terminated. I know Blogger was deleting blogs from there database earlier last year. To be safe, set your blogs up in your own hosting account. This way you have full control over it
After you get one set up you can begin to post to it. I usually post every day to each new blog I set up. I do this for at least the first 6 months or so, and then post to it once a week. If you do it this way you have a better chance at ranking higher and getting good PR.
The third type of site you could create is an article directory. I’m sure you have seen them before and used them before, but have you ever owned one? You can find free software to set up a site like this. These types of sites are good too. You can do pretty much the same with these as you do with your niche sites or blogs. The best part about these sites is that you have a stead stream of hungry people that visit your site regularly. Why? Because you are affering a free service to them by promoting there sites, sales letters, and affiliate links. You can alos expect some good adsense earnings because you will have thousands of new pages with your adsense ads and affiliate links being created every day.
Having said the above statement, I must warn you that competition is fierce so you might want to consider setting up a specific niche article directory so you get better listings. You will also most likely be sought out more so than the general article directories. I will leave that choice up to you.
Finally, you can set up a forum where your visitors actually write the content for your site while they post threads or communicate with the rest of the community. Setting up a forum can be very profitable, especially if you build a solid community that helps each other. I found that when forums are healthy communities, I tend to profit more from them. You set up a give and take kind of relationship with the other members of the community, and they are more likely to purchase or click on something you recommend.
Well now you have it. You now have four different ways to make adsense and affiliate revenue streams. Remember though, it does take some time and effort to get your sites up, add content, promote them, and get a steady steam of readers.
